June 2021

2 stories · Crackdown, Platforms

June 2021 was a month of rules being written for hosts. On 4 June, Nevada's governor signed a law requiring Clark County and three cities to license and tax short-term rentals, with most of it set to take effect on 1 July 2022. The same day, Airbnb asked the UK government for a national register of short-term let operators, and on 11 June the government said it would consult on a registration scheme for England. Scotland opened a third consultation on its licensing plan.
